This is my attemp at copying the Pearlfire orange stock paint of my 06 Honda CBR 600RR.  I have been adding blue items- levers, grips, windscreen etc and Broncos decals.  I peeled the stock black tribal graphics and was looking for a Plasti Dip option.  After looking over this forum I was ready to order the Firebelly Orange Metalizer but after seeing what Jack1030 did with Blaze Orange I went with that. Here is how she looked when I got her

So I wanted to practice on my helmet before hitting the fairings.  

 

 

Prepping my helmet.  Had to take off the decals

 

 

Put on 5 coats of Blaze Orange then hit it with a misting of Gold Metalizer while the last coat was still wet.  Then a couple coats of Glossifier

 

 

And this is why we practice!!  Too much Metalizer made it run.  I would be pissed if this was my fairings but live and learn.  I thought the coats were going too light so I was trying to go a bit thicker since my first can was almost empty.  Then, that can starting shooting globs so I switched to a new one and got heavy handed

 

 

It's all good though going to Navy Blue the helmet along with the swingarm and stands. I originally did the stands in regular Blue in the can but it's too light blue

You can really see the difference in color due to the base coat.  I spray painted the rear stand black before dipping and the front I left white.

After a couple coats of Glossifier

 

 

I added the decals to the tail and coated it with 2 coats of Glossifier to help the decals stay put.

 

Finished the tail piece with Tribal decals.  More to come

Okay.  Got a couple more decals and couple more pieces done...  two to go

Yes!! Last piece dipped.  More decals and a little glossifier and I'll be slappin her back together (after a quick oil change).

Got the tank done and nose piece and rear tire on.  Slow going and in a mood so I didn't finish.

Good news bad news...  Here is the finished product.  I will post a bunch and then I will show the bad news.  It turned out great!  I should have done the decals differently.  Live and learn.

I peeled my helmet.  Didn't match the bike since it's Blaze O over black and the bike was already orange.  Think I'll go Navy Blue.

Color differences are crazy.  Base coat really makes a difference.

hahaha- thanks!!  I take a lot of pride in my work.  Lots of planning and studying and effort went into this.  I appreciate the props but I have to give thanks to everyone with videos and that answered questions to help me figure this thing out.  It sure is fun.  Wait til you see what I have planned for the 3000GT!

Dude! I dropped to 4th!!  I'm a Porsche freak but c'mon that thing is not that imaginative.  The pink GTR is gimmicky and I like the Evo but thought I would have a better showing than 4th!  waah waahh - hahaha
